The Social Security System (SSS) has announced major improvements to their Calamity Loan Program (CLP) for 2025. These new guidelines offer Filipino members faster access and lower interest rates during disasters.

Eligibility Requirements

You can apply for an SSS calamity loan if you:

Contribution Requirements:

  • At least 36 monthly contributions
  • 6 contributions within the last 12 months
  • For SE/VM/OFW: at least 6 contributions under current membership type

Account Requirements:

  • Registered on My.SSS portal
  • No overdue SSS loans
  • Age 18-64 years
  • Live in an area declared under State of Calamity
  • No final benefit granted (retirement/disability)

For Employed Members: Your employer must be updated with SSS contributions and loan payments.

How to Apply Online

Step 1: Access My.SSS

  1. Log in to My.SSS Portal
  2. Or use the SSS Mobile App

Step 2: Submit Application

  1. Navigate to Calamity Loan section
  2. Complete the application form
  3. Submit within 30 days from program announcement

Step 3: Wait for Disbursement

Proceeds are credited via:

  • UMID ATM card (if enrolled)
  • PESONet bank transfer (enrolled DAEM account)

Late Payment Consequences

  • 1% monthly penalty for every day late
  • After 24 months unpaid: 10% annual interest + 1% monthly penalty
  • Unpaid balance deducted from future SSS benefits
